Gary Brady’s Road to Success: In it for the long haul!

From the young age of 13, Gary Brady held a long list of jobs while quickly realizing he didn’t enjoy working for someone else. Deciding to set out on his own, he became a truck driver for more than 12 years. Then, on a day like any other; things changed when he was presented with an opportunity to join a direct sales company. Ready for a new opportunity he made the decision to go for it. Unfortunately, it nearly cost him everything.
Having been burned once before, he was slightly guarded when Ruth and Jeff Elliott introduced him to Vemma. Thankfully, he was open-minded enough to give it a chance. Gary recalls, “Ruth’s been with Vemma from the beginning. I knew she and Jeff believed in it. It felt like Vemma was something I needed to be doing.” So he quickly went to work with the goal of making enough money to save his home and improve his financial outlook.

Vemma turned out to be the right decision and a good fit for Gary. In his first 10 days of business he recruited 30 people onto his team. His philosophy has always been: “Your income will be a direct reflection of the number of people you are willing to help personally succeed.” Gary always puts others first. He focuses on his team members’ goals, instead of setting goals for himself. His own team reflects the truth of this; Gary has celebrated the promotion of 10 Gold Leaders in the past six months.

As part of Vemma’s Go for the Gold program, Gary has identified 15 Brand Partners he is excited to work with specifically to reach the rank of Gold and achieve the Go for the Gold Weekend Summit in Phoenix, Arizona. “I look at my team, find out their goals and make them my goals,” Gary says. “I’ve learned that if I help other people reach their goals, my business will take care of itself.” At the beginning of this year Gary created a simple, six-step system that’s easy to implement, and just as simple for his team to duplicate.

1. Choose teammates wisely. Identify potential Brand Partners by their desire to positively impact the lives of others through health, financial well-being, or both. Choose people you like to be around and would enjoy working with!

2. Make coaching a priority. Schedule a personal coaching session with your Brand Partners on a weekly basis, or more often if needed.

3.Support your team. Be available to help share the Vemma story through 3-way calls, one-on-one meetings, home events, etc. The venue is not important; personal connection is the key. As a leader, it is very important to be consistently accessible and dependable.

4. Stay actively involved in the business. Take an active role in all of your Brand Partners’ businesses. Continuously monitor and analyze growth. (Back Office Pro is essential for this activity.)

5. Communicate often. Conduct team calls on a weekly basis to help people stay motivated and connected, and to celebrate success.

6.Keep growing as a leader. This is the most important step, and it’s at the heart of Gary’s success. His motto is, “Your business should never outgrow you as a person.”

Gary’s team began a monthly book club. Together, they read personal development and positive thinking books, then discuss them. He also recommends listening to 15 minutes a day of a positive or motivational audio training.

Six days a week, Gary shares Vemma with others. Each day, he has the same goal; to help change people’s lives. “I want to make sure I help as many people as I possibly can, because I know what it’s like to struggle financially,” he says.

Gary’s goal is to schedule a minimum of three one-on-one meetings, three conference calls and three home events a week. The rest of his time is spent being available for his team when they need him … except for Sundays.

On Sundays, Gary doesn’t answer the phone. After years of hard work, he is now enjoying the benefit of being his own boss. Gary enjoys time with his family, reading his Bible, working out and traveling to exotic locations. Although from a material standpoint his life looks much the same, time and financial freedom have made all the difference in the world.

Gary’s 3 tips for building a successful Vemma business:
• Follow Jim Rohn’s philosophy: “Work harder on yourself than you do on your business.”
• Don’t quit! You are only one person away from an explosion.
• Find a mentor who has achieved the success in Vemma you want to achieve, and do everything they coach you to do with all your heart. No one can teach you to achieve something he hasn’t achieved himself. Be careful where you get your advice.

Robin Phillips Shares Her Transformation Story

Watch now as we catch up with Robin Phillips, the Women’s Grand Prize Winner of the Chris Powell 12-Week Bod•ē Challenge!

What makes a true champion? Talk to Vemma Brand Partner Robin Phillips, who just became the Women’s Grand Prize Winner of the Chris Powell 12-Week Bod•ē Challenge. As a military wife, stay-at-home mom, entrepreneur and mother of three, Robin has many demands on her time, so she needed a weight loss program that would fit easily into her lifestyle. Bod•ē fit the bill. Robin accepted the challenge, lost 25 pounds, and became a weight loss champion to friends and family.** “Winning was a complete surprise. When I entered, it was because I needed a personal challenge. I’m looking forward to the cruise, though!”

Getting back to normal

Robin’s goal was simple: to get off that baby weight and get back to feeling normal. “I gained about 30 pounds after the birth of my third child,” Robin says, “and found myself just kind of grazing all day with the kids. I couldn’t find a weight loss program that really worked for me. I needed a program that made it simple, so the Bod•ē app was perfect. I didn’t have to keep track of a thing — the app did it all for me. In 12 weeks, I achieved my goal and I feel healthy and strong again, mentally and physically.** I’m ready for the next challenge!” And it’s a good thing she is, since she just found out her husband is getting re-stationed. Robin squeezed the Bod•ē Challenge in between two major moves in a 10-month time frame, which is a feat worthy of a medal in itself.

Becoming a finalist

“When I got the call telling me I was a finalist, it just felt surreal. They flew me to Vegas, and I had a gorgeous room with a gift basket waiting for me. I felt totally pampered. We couldn’t find a sitter for the kids, so my sister came with me to Vegas and my husband stayed home and watched Convention on Ustream with the kids. I’ve got a photo of them watching at home and cheering for me.” In addition to the ultimate makeover retreat Robin won in Vegas (which included a shopping spree with a personal shopper, salon and spa services, and travel), Robin also came home with $1,000 in cash and a $5,000 cruise voucher for an ultimate vacation package. “When I got home from Vegas, my husband was already researching the best vacation spots in the Caribbean,” she says, smiling.

“If I can do it, you can do it!”

With her husband on active duty, there were days Robin couldn’t get to the gym, but she found a way to work exercise in. “When kids were sick or home from school and I couldn’t get a babysitter, I’d do an exercise video at home. Even if you only have 10 minutes, you can do Chris and Heidi’s nine-minute workout from the Dr. Oz Show.” Robin had a lot of reasons why she could have given up, but she didn’t. She stuck with it and has justly earned the title of Chris Powell Bod•ē Challenge Champion. “I have a challenging lifestyle with my husband in the military and having a young family,” Robin states matter-of-factly. “We’ve moved six times in the past eight years, so change is constant, plus there are deployments. My message to people everywhere is if I can do it, you can do it.”

Weight Loss Tips from Grand Prize Winner Robin Phillips

  • Once you start, be consistent from the moment you wake up to that Bod•ē Rest at night.
  • Make healthy eating a family thing. Share healthy snacks and meals with the kids instead of making separate meals.
  • Take those before photos! It can be intimidating, but it’s the only way to really see how much progress you’ve made.
  • Fit exercise in whenever you can, even if you don’t have time for a full workout.
  • Use the Bod•ē app! It makes the program so simple.
  • Stay active as a family. Find something you enjoy — whether it’s swimming, hiking or biking — and do it together.
  • Believe you can do it.

**Results not typical, you may not do as well. Two pilot studies conducted by Vemma showed that 55 participants who followed the Vemma Bod•ē Transformation Plan for 12 weeks using Vemma Bod•ē Burn, Bod•ē Rest and Bod•ē Cleanse, lost an average of 14.8 pounds. Not all participants will complete the plan, or accurately follow the directions and guidelines of the plan. Vemma Nutrition Company recommends you follow a healthy approach to weight loss by consulting with your physician or healthcare provider before starting any new exercise, diet plan, nutrition or supplementation program, particularly if you suffer from any medical condition or regularly use prescription or over-the-counter medications. The Vemma Bod•ē products as part of the Vemma Bod•ē Transformation Plan should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and 10 minutes of daily exercise.

The Power of Consistency – YPR Star Presidential Cody Barton

Cody Barton - The Power of ConsistencyVemma Brand Partner Cody Barton of Phoenix, Arizona started his Vemma business two years ago and just went Star Presidential. Through diligent, consistent effort, Cody created an international organization of high achievers and altered the course of his life. “When I started Vemma, I was working two part-time jobs — 35 hours a week at McDonalds and then doing sign spinning on street corners for 6 hour shifts in the hot Arizona sun. Even with all that, I was barely making any money,” says Cody, who learned about Vemma through his sister. “Vemma’s changed my lifestyle completely. Not only do I have a good income, but I also have the time freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want. Nothing can match that.”*

Getting the ball rolling

“I’m just an average 19-year-old,” says Cody, who’s on track to reaching a significant income this year with Vemma.* “A lot of people ask me what the secret is. I don’t think there is any secret, but it is about work. It’s hard work sometimes, and you have to give up a lot of the partying that people our age get caught up in and learn to be consistent. You go through failures, and you keep going. You get made fun of, and you keep going. My high school teachers made fun of me every day, telling me I was going nowhere with this energy drink thing, but you have to keep focused on why you’re doing this business, celebrate your successes and just be consistent.” Cody says his age group is often stereotyped and perceived in a negative way, which fuels his desire to succeed. “No one really believes in our demographic. When you walk into stores, people don’t take you seriously — they think you’re there just to mess around. With Vemma, we’re showing people that we can make and achieve tough goals. We can be successful, and we’re doing it our way.”

Building on belief

“The biggest obstacle to starting this business as a young adult is that sometimes people don’t take you seriously,” says Cody, who was a high school senior when he joined Vemma. “Not just prospects, but other Brand Partners. It took about six months for me to find a mentor who would really show me the plan — Andrew Baer. He was great; he really supported me and helped me build my team. Until then, we were learning by trial and error. Some kids at my high school were getting sent to the principal’s office for talking about Verve in class, so that caused some problems. Other kids got all fired up and went home and talked to their parents and the parents weren’t on board with it. So for the first 4 or 5 months, we built on belief alone because we didn’t know how to build it or what we had to do to build the business. It’s a lot easier now because there’s the Frenzy Bonus, the Car Bonus, opportunity calls, and there’s a set system in place that teaches you exactly what you need to do to reach the level you want.”

Enjoying the freedom of a Vemma business

Despite the obstacles of starting the business in high school, Cody wouldn’t have it any other way. “I always knew I didn’t want to work for someone else my whole life,” Cody says. The benefits of starting a Vemma business as a teenager are pretty obvious — not many of Cody’s 19-year-old friends are cruising around in a new BMW or traveling all over the world.* “The best thing about Vemma is the time freedom,” he says. While Cody’s launched a successful Vemma career with unbeatable time freedom, most of his friends are still clocking in at minimum wage jobs and trying to figure out what to do in life. “Before I started Vemma, I didn’t travel much,” Cody says. “But in the past eighteen months, I’ve traveled to seven countries and been just about everywhere I’ve ever wanted to travel to.* It’s really enjoyable to make friends all over the world. I’ve got a large team in Norway, and I go out for meetings there. But my favorite place to visit is Texas. I’ve got some great teams in Texas. Everything’s bigger and better in Texas, right?”

Success Tips from Cody

• Work on your Vemma business every single day.
• Follow the system. Don’t reinvent it — follow your leaders and things will go quicker.
• Have a “never give up” mentality. I see so many people that could be successful in this business but they give up before they have a chance. Quitting transfers over into other aspects of your life, so don’t be a quitter. Be persistent.
• Get exercise every day. We’re Brand Partners for a health and wellness company. Represent that — live a healthy lifestyle.
• Make sure there’s a balance between Vemma and everything else that’s going on in your life.
• Stick together as a group.
• Write down your goals on paper and put them on your wall.
• Do not get comfortable. When you hit a certain rank, don’t let things slide. Celebrate the next rank, but then decide what you need to do the next month. Always have your next goal in mind and a plan to make it happen.
