Dennis & Sue Ligon

Dennis Ligon is a man with a southern charm and an easy gentleness about him. Although he has a kid in college, he can still play the role of a peer, running up and down the basketball court with his son and college buddies. He has refused to follow convention and follows his own distinct path. One of the first pieces of knowledge he shares is that if you are afraid to go outside of your own comfort zone, then you’ve already lived your best days.

His wife Sue is one of the kindest, sweetest and most genuine people that you will ever meet. When she was 10, her father passed away and her mother was extremely sick. Growing up with a single parent, Sue had to find a way to meet her own needs and was self sufficient by the age of 14. She still carries this same work ethic today and firmly believes that if you want something, you can achieve it.

So what are the chances of two people being in both the tanning industry and Vemma? Out of thousands of Vemma Brand Partners, what are the chances of these two kindred spirits meeting, falling in love and getting married? Spending just minutes with the pair, it quickly becomes obvious that this is a meant-to-be situation and would make even the most jaded observer believe in true love.

For Dennis and Sue Ligon, the key to success is consistency. The small day-to-day choices they make add up over time to make all the difference. It’s not easy to set good habits and have the strength to follow them, but those that do find success. Recently, Dennis decided to invest in a commercial building for Vemma in order to bring Verve Central to the east coast. In doing so, he has created a haven in Virginia for people to meet and bring prospects to come and talk about how Vemma can change their lives.

To their credit, Dennis and Sue have not let the money and success spoil them. They are happy to be able to give back. By building a Verve Central in Virginia Beach, they have given their team a huge resource to help with their own personal businesses, and they’ve also been able to give to their church the equivalent of what Sue used to live on for a year. They feel very blessed to be able to help others, and what you’ll find in Virginia and across the country is that the opposite is also very true: There are countless people who feel blessed by the kindness and generosity of this dynamic couple.

Alon Seltzer Joins the Platinum Club

“Thanks to the Brogans, Wilborns, my Vemma team, and most importantly thanks to our captain BK Boreyko for making all of this possible. This car is only an accomplishment and a stepping-stone to my ultimate goals. When my whole team has a fleet of cars and they are able to pass their knowledge along to more people I will finally be able to call this success. I have become so much more these past few months because I have been able to motivate others to duplicate what works. It’s amazing to see what a small group of like-minded young people can do. The craziest part is, it hasn’t even begun! L’chaim to all the haters, I’ll see you from the top.”

Building an Empire: Kairrie McClain

kairrie2If you had a peek into Vemma Star Presidential Kairrie McClain’s life before her network marketing career took off, you’d agree that she deserves every creature comfort her life is now steeped in. At 22, Kairrie was $25,000 in debt and barely scraping by on the $900 a month she earned leasing apartments. “Everyone said, declare bankruptcy. That’s your only option.” Instead, she launched a career in network marketing and paid off all her debts within a year.* Today, Kairrie’s one of the newest members of the Vemma Elite, having rapidly zipped through the ranks to Star Presidential since she joined in January.* “I love that with Vemma, the newest person has the same opportunity for wealth that I do. It wasn’t like this with my former company. With Vemma, we’re all helping each other out and changing lives. And as far as the products go… Verve Bold is just amazing!”
Getting a game plan

“During that time when I had so much debt, and no way to pay it off, I remember I had this moment of clarity one night,” Kairrie shares. “I was sitting on the floor of my one-bedroom apartment, I looked around and realized that everything in my apartment was either furniture my parents had given me or stuff from a garage sale. I asked myself, this is what I’ve worked so hard for? I have nothing to show for four years of hard work except all that debt.”” Kairrie made a decision right then to turn her life around. “”I didn’t know how to do it, so I talked to everyone I could who was making more money than I was.” One of these people happened to be Anthony Powell, a friend of her family.” When she told Anthony she was dead serious about joining and wanted to learn from him, he was a little hesitant. “”Anthony knew I initially started in network marketing at 18 and had already quit once, so he was honest with me about how hard I’’d have to work to get what I wanted. “He said, ‘’I'’m not going to chase you down, babysit you, or hound you to do the work.’ I said, ‘I’’m here and I’’ll do whatever it takes. Anthony was the first person who was willing to take a chance on me, and I owe him so much for that.””

Building an empire and shopping like a queen

Fast forward to now, and Kairrie has a wildly successful group all over the country that grows daily. “Being so young, and doing so well in this business, I went crazy at first, shopping like crazy. It was like, oh I love that dress! I have to get one … in every color. Shoes and purses are especially my thing. But luckily I had a mentor who sat me down early on and said, this has got to stop. What’s the difference between making $40,000 a month and $900 a month if you’re short of money at the end of every month?* You’ll end up right where you were before. It was a tough lesson for me to learn, but I really appreciate it now. I learned to be wise about what I spend and only spend what I’ve set aside for the month. I realized that I don’t always need the valet parking. Sometimes I have to wait to buy something I really want because I’m doing a promotion for my team. Yes, you can do amazing things you couldn’t do before, but you’ve got to learn moderation.”

Getting past the age barrier

Kairrie’s learned that you can grow your business quicker if you don’t let age become an issue. “When I started at 22, I used to tell everybody how old I was — you know, ‘I’m 25, and see how well I’ve done, and you can do it too.’ One day Anthony overheard me saying that and he told me, ‘You don’t need to bring up your age. Do you only want 20-somethings to join your team? That’s a really small percentage of the market.’ I realized he was right. I was limiting the growth of my team. In this business, it doesn’t matter how old you are, what matters is how you work. So I made it a goal to make age become a non-issue, and you know what? My business doubled and then tripled.”* Kairrie has massively successful people on her team in all age groups, from late teens up to people in their 80s. This is part of what keeps her motivated — these are people who have had layoffs and job loss, felt the pressure of mortgages, and struggled to keep afloat. The change you can help them make is enormous. “People ask me, how can you stay excited? Switching to a new company is like starting all over again, right? The answer is that I’m so passionate about helping people have the life I have that I can’t stand the thought of sitting down and letting 20 or 30 people stay stuck and miserable in their current situation. I know what that’s like — I remember what it felt like to have a low paying job at 22 and be $25k in debt. And I know how to help them.”

Kairrie’s Tips for Success

• Talk to 10 people a day about the business.
• Do 15-20 presentations every week.
• Whatever you do, do it massively and with intention. When I’d go out at 4 am to post signs advertising my business all over town, I’d do 400 at a time.
• Don’t worry about the people who end up quitting.
• Having a broke mentality leads you to blow everything you have. Be wise with your income, whether it’s $500 a month or $100,000 a month.*
• Spend 20-30 minutes a day on personal development. As your checks grow, you’ve got to grow with them or you won’t maintain them.
• Promotions are a big part of the business. Once you reach $10k/month, it’s time to really start investing in your people.*
• As your business grows, put money back into your business. Massively successful businesses require an investment.
• Trust your team. We trust Anthony and he’s proven himself to us over and over.

The Power of Consistency – YPR Star Presidential Cody Barton

Cody Barton - The Power of ConsistencyVemma Brand Partner Cody Barton of Phoenix, Arizona started his Vemma business two years ago and just went Star Presidential. Through diligent, consistent effort, Cody created an international organization of high achievers and altered the course of his life. “When I started Vemma, I was working two part-time jobs — 35 hours a week at McDonalds and then doing sign spinning on street corners for 6 hour shifts in the hot Arizona sun. Even with all that, I was barely making any money,” says Cody, who learned about Vemma through his sister. “Vemma’s changed my lifestyle completely. Not only do I have a good income, but I also have the time freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want. Nothing can match that.”*

Getting the ball rolling

“I’m just an average 19-year-old,” says Cody, who’s on track to reaching a significant income this year with Vemma.* “A lot of people ask me what the secret is. I don’t think there is any secret, but it is about work. It’s hard work sometimes, and you have to give up a lot of the partying that people our age get caught up in and learn to be consistent. You go through failures, and you keep going. You get made fun of, and you keep going. My high school teachers made fun of me every day, telling me I was going nowhere with this energy drink thing, but you have to keep focused on why you’re doing this business, celebrate your successes and just be consistent.” Cody says his age group is often stereotyped and perceived in a negative way, which fuels his desire to succeed. “No one really believes in our demographic. When you walk into stores, people don’t take you seriously — they think you’re there just to mess around. With Vemma, we’re showing people that we can make and achieve tough goals. We can be successful, and we’re doing it our way.”

Building on belief

“The biggest obstacle to starting this business as a young adult is that sometimes people don’t take you seriously,” says Cody, who was a high school senior when he joined Vemma. “Not just prospects, but other Brand Partners. It took about six months for me to find a mentor who would really show me the plan — Andrew Baer. He was great; he really supported me and helped me build my team. Until then, we were learning by trial and error. Some kids at my high school were getting sent to the principal’s office for talking about Verve in class, so that caused some problems. Other kids got all fired up and went home and talked to their parents and the parents weren’t on board with it. So for the first 4 or 5 months, we built on belief alone because we didn’t know how to build it or what we had to do to build the business. It’s a lot easier now because there’s the Frenzy Bonus, the Car Bonus, opportunity calls, and there’s a set system in place that teaches you exactly what you need to do to reach the level you want.”

Enjoying the freedom of a Vemma business

Despite the obstacles of starting the business in high school, Cody wouldn’t have it any other way. “I always knew I didn’t want to work for someone else my whole life,” Cody says. The benefits of starting a Vemma business as a teenager are pretty obvious — not many of Cody’s 19-year-old friends are cruising around in a new BMW or traveling all over the world.* “The best thing about Vemma is the time freedom,” he says. While Cody’s launched a successful Vemma career with unbeatable time freedom, most of his friends are still clocking in at minimum wage jobs and trying to figure out what to do in life. “Before I started Vemma, I didn’t travel much,” Cody says. “But in the past eighteen months, I’ve traveled to seven countries and been just about everywhere I’ve ever wanted to travel to.* It’s really enjoyable to make friends all over the world. I’ve got a large team in Norway, and I go out for meetings there. But my favorite place to visit is Texas. I’ve got some great teams in Texas. Everything’s bigger and better in Texas, right?”

Success Tips from Cody

• Work on your Vemma business every single day.
• Follow the system. Don’t reinvent it — follow your leaders and things will go quicker.
• Have a “never give up” mentality. I see so many people that could be successful in this business but they give up before they have a chance. Quitting transfers over into other aspects of your life, so don’t be a quitter. Be persistent.
• Get exercise every day. We’re Brand Partners for a health and wellness company. Represent that — live a healthy lifestyle.
• Make sure there’s a balance between Vemma and everything else that’s going on in your life.
• Stick together as a group.
• Write down your goals on paper and put them on your wall.
• Do not get comfortable. When you hit a certain rank, don’t let things slide. Celebrate the next rank, but then decide what you need to do the next month. Always have your next goal in mind and a plan to make it happen.

Konnor Dyer Joins the Platinum Club!

Konnor Dyer“I am so thankful and blessed to be part of Vemma. It honestly has changed my life in so many ways. I’m 19 years old, and like most people, I was really skeptical and instantly said no to this opportunity because I had a huge ego and a really small bank account. I thought I knew everything about everything, but now I look back and I’m so glad I took the time to check it out. Before this, I was working 20 to 30 hours bussing tables five nights a week. I hated what I was doing, but I thought that was my only option to make money, until I found Vemma. I can’t thank my leaders, Alex Morton, Brock Morton and Case Morton, enough for supporting me ever since the beginning. They have been huge mentors in my life, and I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for them. Also, I want to give a huge shout-out to my whole team and the leaders that many of you have become; a lot of your stories inspire me to work harder every single day! I love that Vemma gives people the opportunity to really take control of their own situation and make it better. This has changed my life and has taught me so many things that I would never have learned in school! Thank you, BK, for the car program and giving us young people the opportunity to go against the status quo and do something different!” – Konnor Dyer

Star Presidentials Lissa & Mark Munson: Running Their Business Poolside

Lissa and Mark Munson
“We’ve been in network marketing for 13 years,” say Vemma Star Presidential Brand Partners Lissa and Mark Munson of Scottsdale, Arizona, “but we’ve never seen anything like Vemma. We are so excited to be part of such a modern, cutting-edge company.” They work out of their beautiful home in Scottsdale, Arizona, often working outside by the pool while their kids run around. “We’ve become experts at efficiency,” says Lissa; “We’ve learned to multi task, balancing running our business with spending time with our two small children.”
Shaking things up with Vemma

munson
“The second week of January, we switched over to Vemma with Anthony Powell’s team. That definitely gave our team a boost, but there was still a lot of work to do,” says Mark. “With both of us doing this full time (and no other money coming in), we had a huge motivation to replace our income as soon as possible.” Working the business full time, Lissa and Mark were able to replace their six-figure income from their old company in just over three months with Vemma.* They’ve kept up a steady pace with Vemma this summer and enjoyed traveling with their kids, aged 5 and 9. “We build this business so we can have quality time with our family,” says Lissa. “We like having the choices and the freedom to have time off together.”
Juggling parenting and a business
The perks to working from home are many: Mark and Lissa can jump in their backyard pool for a 15-minute swim between business presentations, they have time to go to the gym together, and they travel frequently with their kids (sometimes for the whole summer).* Other perks are that they set their own working hours and avoid the daycare dilemma. But with a gorgeous pool beckoning and two kids clamoring for attention, how do they say focused? “It’s not always easy running an efficient business from home with kids running around the house. A lot of people ask us how we do it. On busy days we’ll both have 15-20 appointments a day, so a lot of the day we spend walking around the house with headsets on. Our kids know that when we’re on the phone they don’t interrupt us, so that definitely helps. But the biggest thing that helps me stay focused is that I book every 30 minutes of my time in advance. I book out appointments and meetings, as well as everyday things like going to the gym, eating and showering. Scheduling keeps me focused. It’s a sacrifice, but if it was easy, everyone would be successful at this. I say, don’t let the little things hold you back. If you want to succeed, develop the discipline to become successful.”
Simple Products, Generous Bonus Plan

When Lissa and Mark first discovered this industry 13 years ago, they were struggling to make ends meet, even with graduate degrees and good jobs. “At that point, even with multiple business degrees, I was doing a lot of job hopping and we were barely paying the bills,” says Lissa. Lissa and Mark appreciate the generous payout plan Vemma offers, along with features like auto-delivery that simplify the task of keeping volume up. The Munsons love the way Vemma’s simple and powerful products are so easy to share. “It’s the first time I’ve ever felt so excited about the products that I’m running around telling everybody. And it’s so simple to run a Vemma business! In our old company, we had to set aside two hours every morning just for product training, when we taught people how to use the products. With Vemma, you don’t need to worry about this kind of training. You open the can, you drink, and there it is. Thanks to the bonuses and the generous structure, we replaced our six figure income from our old company in just over 90 days.”*

Making sizzling hot goals

“I grew up in Montana,” says Lissa, “but I don’t like the cold. In college, I did a semester in Mexico and I found out that I really love the heat. Mark and I lived in Montana for many years, while Mark was working as an accountant, but we set a goal to be successful enough with network marketing that we could move someplace warm.” Two years ago, they saw that dream realized when their network marketing income enabled Mark to quit his corporate job and move the family to Arizona.* Mark then joined Lissa full time in the business. “I’ll be working a lot from Montana this summer, helping my mom, who just went Diamond,” says Lissa. “The great thing about this business is that you can work from anywhere. We dream of going on an African safari someday, visiting friends in Malaysia and Vietnam, and going to Italy for the summer. Our Vemma business is so portable that all these things are within reach.”*

Mark & Lissa’s Tips for Success

• Lead by example.
• Schedule everything. If you have kids at home, this is especially important. We schedule our days ahead in 30-minute increments.
• Stay focused and united as a team.
• If one of you is more experienced in the business, don’t be your spouse’s mentor or try to train them. Let them reach out to other mentors. You’ll both be happier.
• Put trust in your upline. You need almost blind faith in your leaders.

Darla DiGrandi: Momentum on the Move

Darla DiGrandi, Momentum on the Move
Darla DiGrandi is a person with lots of momentum, and right away, she will tell you she loves what she does. “I love helping people change their lives,” she says. “Vemma gives me the opportunity to help people from all walks of life, and the freedom to work however and wherever I want – the beach, the bed, the couch or the gym.”

She has been a Brand Partner for five months, and is already a Star Executive.* She attributes her success to hard work, constant personal development, and the strength of the company itself. “The most important thing I’ve learned about Vemma is the difference between a company in momentum, versus a company that isn’t.  I’ve been in both and there is a huge difference.” A savvy businesswoman, Darla has the experience to know what she wants. For nearly 20 years, she owned and operated one of the largest high-end salons in Palm Springs, California, but had no time or freedom to truly enjoy life.

When the recession hit, she left her business and turned to network marketing, rising to become a top, award-winning seller in another company. She immediately saw the benefits of network marketing as a smart way of doing business that enabled her more freedom in life. That’s when she discovered Vemma, seemingly by accident — but she believes it was meant to be.

The law of attraction — three doors down

Darla claims it’s the “law of attraction” that brought her to Vemma. Several months ago, she and her upline trainer at their previous network marketing company were looking to make a career move to a new company. He was researching the industry for companies in momentum with good compensation plans, when he came across a YouTube video of Brad Alkazin talking about Vemma. “The video looked like it was shot from Brad Alkazin’s kitchen, and when my trainer saw the view out the back window, he recognized it as his own neighborhood. Amazingly, it turns out that he lived three doors down from Brad and didn’t even know it!”

Darla and her trainer both separately went to meet with Brad. After much research and delving into the company’s financial performance, the family, the system and the product, they decided to join. “Until Vemma, I had only drunk one energy drink in my entire life,” Darla says. “So, in the beginning, it was all about the opportunity for wealth, versus the product. But I’m a big believer in

The Secret – I’ve watched it 100 times – and my trainer and I realized that the law of attraction had brought us all together with Vemma.”

Changing lives
Darla DiGrandi

Through her work with Vemma, Darla has high ambitions to change people’s lives for the better. “I want more than anything to educate people on this industry and the power it has to change the world,” she says. “In a world with little hope, there is a cure right under their nose with Vemma – not just a cure for health, but also a cure for wealth.”*

She says that she has transformed her own life through personal development and belief in endless possibility. “I used to be too shy to even shake someone’s hand,” she says, laughing. “Now, I have been able to completely reinvent my mind and rid it of the impossible that exists in most people’s minds.”

She says the qualities of being loyal and competitive have helped her excel, as well as mentoring with successful people and constantly working at everyday personal development. “I cannot tell you the name of any TV shows or current famous people, and I haven’t watched the news for years,” she says. “I avoid negativity at all costs, which is what you mostly see on TV today.” One of Darla’s ambitions in the future is to create a foster home for children who have never been adopted and help put them on their own path to success.

Charting her own course

Darla’s work with Vemma has given her freedom to live the way she wants and spend more time with her husband and young daughter.* “I used to think I was free when I had no debt,” she says, “But my life was not mine. My customers and my employees owned me. In network marketing with the right company, like Vemma, you can be truly free.”

After entering the network marketing field, Darla experienced a new sense of freedom by taking her family on the road. “We sold everything and went from a 5,000-square-foot luxury home to a 45-foot RV, pulled our seven-year-old daughter out of school to homeschool her, and then hit the road,” she says. “We traveled the country through nine states and had an amazing family bonding experience with a lifetime of memories. The best part was realizing that people do not understand what true freedom is.” She says through network marketing with Vemma, she demonstrates to others how free they can be in their life.

 Keeping dreams alive

Darla’s years of business experience have taught her how to deal with roadblocks. “The roadblocks in business are all the same,” she says. “People are the roadblock. So many people have given up hope that anything great can happen for them. They’ve been fighting for so many years that their dreams have been snuffed out by the recession.” To keep momentum going, she relies on her upline. “When we joined, my trainer and I purposely positioned ourselves under the number-one family, because we understand how important support is. Now, they have become family, and that’s priceless.”

She also stays in constant communication with members of her team through Twitter and her newest favorite app, Voxer. “Times are changing so fast in the world today with technology, I have a feeling it will be different next month and pretty soon Facebook will be a thing of the past. I rarely use it anymore.”

Darla is looking forward to the next Vemma Convention, saying she would never miss it, and hopes to be at Presidential or Star Presidential rank by then. When asked about what advice she would give to someone new to the business or Vemma, she says: “Sit down and ask yourself, where in life would you be if you were free, if money and time were all yours? Make a dream board with all of the things you want, then find yourself an upline mentor that is a Diamond or higher and tell them how badly you want it. From there, turn off your TV and start reading personal development books, watch The Secret every day if you need to, and literally reinvent the way you think. Success and wealth is not defined by a diploma; it’s all in your power to change the way you think about making money.”
That, she says, is the real secret.
