Darla DiGrandi: Momentum on the Move

Darla DiGrandi, Momentum on the Move
Darla DiGrandi is a person with lots of momentum, and right away, she will tell you she loves what she does. “I love helping people change their lives,” she says. “Vemma gives me the opportunity to help people from all walks of life, and the freedom to work however and wherever I want – the beach, the bed, the couch or the gym.”

She has been a Brand Partner for five months, and is already a Star Executive.* She attributes her success to hard work, constant personal development, and the strength of the company itself. “The most important thing I’ve learned about Vemma is the difference between a company in momentum, versus a company that isn’t.  I’ve been in both and there is a huge difference.” A savvy businesswoman, Darla has the experience to know what she wants. For nearly 20 years, she owned and operated one of the largest high-end salons in Palm Springs, California, but had no time or freedom to truly enjoy life.

When the recession hit, she left her business and turned to network marketing, rising to become a top, award-winning seller in another company. She immediately saw the benefits of network marketing as a smart way of doing business that enabled her more freedom in life. That’s when she discovered Vemma, seemingly by accident — but she believes it was meant to be.

The law of attraction — three doors down

Darla claims it’s the “law of attraction” that brought her to Vemma. Several months ago, she and her upline trainer at their previous network marketing company were looking to make a career move to a new company. He was researching the industry for companies in momentum with good compensation plans, when he came across a YouTube video of Brad Alkazin talking about Vemma. “The video looked like it was shot from Brad Alkazin’s kitchen, and when my trainer saw the view out the back window, he recognized it as his own neighborhood. Amazingly, it turns out that he lived three doors down from Brad and didn’t even know it!”

Darla and her trainer both separately went to meet with Brad. After much research and delving into the company’s financial performance, the family, the system and the product, they decided to join. “Until Vemma, I had only drunk one energy drink in my entire life,” Darla says. “So, in the beginning, it was all about the opportunity for wealth, versus the product. But I’m a big believer in

The Secret – I’ve watched it 100 times – and my trainer and I realized that the law of attraction had brought us all together with Vemma.”

Changing lives
Darla DiGrandi

Through her work with Vemma, Darla has high ambitions to change people’s lives for the better. “I want more than anything to educate people on this industry and the power it has to change the world,” she says. “In a world with little hope, there is a cure right under their nose with Vemma – not just a cure for health, but also a cure for wealth.”*

She says that she has transformed her own life through personal development and belief in endless possibility. “I used to be too shy to even shake someone’s hand,” she says, laughing. “Now, I have been able to completely reinvent my mind and rid it of the impossible that exists in most people’s minds.”

She says the qualities of being loyal and competitive have helped her excel, as well as mentoring with successful people and constantly working at everyday personal development. “I cannot tell you the name of any TV shows or current famous people, and I haven’t watched the news for years,” she says. “I avoid negativity at all costs, which is what you mostly see on TV today.” One of Darla’s ambitions in the future is to create a foster home for children who have never been adopted and help put them on their own path to success.

Charting her own course

Darla’s work with Vemma has given her freedom to live the way she wants and spend more time with her husband and young daughter.* “I used to think I was free when I had no debt,” she says, “But my life was not mine. My customers and my employees owned me. In network marketing with the right company, like Vemma, you can be truly free.”

After entering the network marketing field, Darla experienced a new sense of freedom by taking her family on the road. “We sold everything and went from a 5,000-square-foot luxury home to a 45-foot RV, pulled our seven-year-old daughter out of school to homeschool her, and then hit the road,” she says. “We traveled the country through nine states and had an amazing family bonding experience with a lifetime of memories. The best part was realizing that people do not understand what true freedom is.” She says through network marketing with Vemma, she demonstrates to others how free they can be in their life.

 Keeping dreams alive

Darla’s years of business experience have taught her how to deal with roadblocks. “The roadblocks in business are all the same,” she says. “People are the roadblock. So many people have given up hope that anything great can happen for them. They’ve been fighting for so many years that their dreams have been snuffed out by the recession.” To keep momentum going, she relies on her upline. “When we joined, my trainer and I purposely positioned ourselves under the number-one family, because we understand how important support is. Now, they have become family, and that’s priceless.”

She also stays in constant communication with members of her team through Twitter and her newest favorite app, Voxer. “Times are changing so fast in the world today with technology, I have a feeling it will be different next month and pretty soon Facebook will be a thing of the past. I rarely use it anymore.”

Darla is looking forward to the next Vemma Convention, saying she would never miss it, and hopes to be at Presidential or Star Presidential rank by then. When asked about what advice she would give to someone new to the business or Vemma, she says: “Sit down and ask yourself, where in life would you be if you were free, if money and time were all yours? Make a dream board with all of the things you want, then find yourself an upline mentor that is a Diamond or higher and tell them how badly you want it. From there, turn off your TV and start reading personal development books, watch The Secret every day if you need to, and literally reinvent the way you think. Success and wealth is not defined by a diploma; it’s all in your power to change the way you think about making money.”
That, she says, is the real secret.

Meet The Other Chris and Heidi – Chris Powell 12-Week Bod•ē Challenge Couples Finalist

Chris and Heidi StoutVemma Gold Brand Partners Chris and Heidi Stout of Flagstaff, Arizona, started the Bod•ē Challenge in January and ended up on stage in Vegas at Convention! They were presented as Finalists in the Couple’s category and won a luxurious makeover retreat in Vegas and $1000 in cash. “As the mother of four young boys, I don’t get many glamorous moments,” shares Heidi. “The photo shoot, the hotel, the makeover… everything was amazing. They treated us like rock stars! It was the first time in eight years that we took a trip without kids (and it happened to be a week after our 10th anniversary), so it was very rejuvenating.”

Jumping into the Challenge

“You can sit around and think about doing something about your weight or you can just do it,” the Stouts say. “The way we see it, we had nothing to lose and everything to gain.” Chris wanted to lose over 50 pounds and Heidi had about 20 pounds she wanted to lose. “We don’t like diets at all! But this program isn’t that restrictive. It doesn’t feel like you’re giving up that much.” They loved the Bod•ē products already and looked forward to drinking them every day and working on goals together. Chris says that the program was easier to do as a couple; “Heidi kept me in check,” he smiles.

Hitting goal weight

“There were days I couldn’t get out of the house to exercise,” says Heidi. “This isn’t Phoenix … Flagstaff gets pretty cold! So I’d do something at home. Sometimes the kids would start exercising with me, which was cute. Since I’ve gone on the program I’ve noticed that my energy level has increased dramatically.** After a while, I found myself getting up before the kids and working out first thing in the morning.” Heidi met her goal and lost 20 pounds by the end of the Challenge.** She’s now training to do a full marathon. Meanwhile, Chris steadily lost 37 pounds on the Challenge and is still going on the program.** He’s lost an impressive 49 pounds to date and is within a few pounds (and just a few weeks) of his final goal.**

Walking taller with Bod•ē

“Chris’ change has been the most dramatic,” says Heidi. “But whether we have 5 pounds or 100 to lose, we all have the same emotions as far as how we feel about ourselves. When you lose weight, it’s not just the weight that changes but the way you feel about yourself, the way you carry yourself. You walk taller; you’re healthier emotionally.** It’s exciting to meet our weight loss goals and have something to offer to others.”**

Jump starting the business with Bod•ē

The Stout’s weight loss journey inspired them to focus more effort on their Vemma business. “Before the Challenge, it was just Chris doing the business, but this has brought us together and now we’re both in it,” says Heidi. “We do meetings together, travel more, and we love helping others take control of their health and their finances.”

Heidi & Chris Tips for Success

• Plan ahead. Heidi plans menus out a month in advance.
• Let the kids eat healthy with you! It’s too complicated to make separate meals. We discovered the kids like asparagus (who’d have guessed?).
• Listen to the tips of the day. They’re really motivational and address any concerns.
• Drink lots of water.
• Don’t give up, even if you have days you didn’t follow it exactly or you aren’t losing weight. Keep going, and it’ll work!

**Results not typical, you may not do as well. Two pilot studies conducted by Vemma showed that 55 participants who followed the Vemma Bod•ē Transformation Plan for 12 weeks using Vemma Bod•ē Burn, Bod•ē Rest and Bod•ē Cleanse, lost an average of 14.8 pounds. Not all participants will complete the plan, or accurately follow the directions and guidelines of the plan. Vemma Nutrition Company recommends you follow a healthy approach to weight loss by consulting with your physician or healthcare provider before starting any new exercise, diet plan, nutrition or supplementation program, particularly if you suffer from any medical condition or regularly use prescription or over-the-counter medications. The Vemma Bod•ē products as part of the Vemma Bod•ē Transformation Plan should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and 10 minutes of daily exercise. Learn more at: http://VemmaToday.com

Acing the Business: Shane Sullivan

Shane Sullivan

Acing the Business: Shane Sullivan

Like many college athletes, Vemma Brand Partner Shane Sullivan was first interested in Vemma because it offered flexible hours. A native of Cleveland, OH, Shane finished his last season playing baseball at Clarion University while laying the foundation for a profitable Vemma business. When the season ended, he shifted full focus into Vemma. His business grew steadily and he went Platinum four months into it and is now teetering on Star Executive. “The paycheck is great, my Mercedes Benz is awesome, but nothing can compare to the look in someone’s eyes when they tell you this has changed their life.* Working with your friends and meeting new people every day is just a whole lot of fun. Sometimes I think there’s something wrong with having so much fun and making so much money.”*
Fitting Vemma into a busy life
Since being a college athlete is such a full time job, Shane says Vemma appeals to many student athletes who need something with flexible hours. “I’ve been playing baseball since I could hold one,” says Shane. “In college, I learned how hard it is to play ball and work. I’ve never known a student athlete in college that can hold a typical part-time job. There’s so much behind the scenes stuff that people don’t realize we have to do outside games and practices. There are the long road trips, charity stuff, mandatory study hall, and keeping your grades up. There just aren’t any set hours you can give a boss. I could see that with Vemma I could fit working into my schedule and have fun at the same time.” Thanks to Vemma, Shane now makes a good income and is also able to coach baseball on the side. “You don’t make much money coaching, but with my Vemma income I can coach baseball for fun and do for other kids what my coaches did for me.”*
Entrepreneur at heart
Shane says he always knew that a typical corporate job wasn’t what he wanted. “My parents are a big motivation to me. They owned their own business, a package and courier delivery service, so they always had time to travel with my brothers and me. I wanted that kind of freedom and flexibility, and that’s what Vemma offers.”* He says that since joining Vemma, he’s become more goal oriented, more determined and has better time-management skills. “Before Vemma, I tended to take things day by day, with no long term plans — you know, what are we doing today, who are we playing. But with Vemma, I see the long term future.” Shane’s built his Vemma team primarily with like-minded college athletes and college-age young adults.” Athletes are good at handling failure so they tend to be very resilient. I think that gives you an edge when you’re building this business.”
 Success Tips from Shane Sullivan
  • This business is all about learning. Shadow those who already have what you want.
  • Stay connected to the team. Get into your team’s Facebook groups, go to meetings, and listen to training calls.
  • I don’t believe in luck. Success is something you attract.
  • Stick together as a team. Key to our success is the culture we have within the Vemma team, the family atmosphere, of everybody helping everybody.
  • Set a good pace. Your team won’t work as hard as they can. They’ll work as hard as you work.
  • Quit making excuses. You either have results or excuses.
  • Be prepared. When preparation meets opportunity, you’ve got success.

Please note: College athletes must adhere to strict NCAA rules and regulations.  They cannot use their name, photo, image and/or likeness in conjunction with selling or endorsing any products or services, whether it’s Vemma, candles, cookware, insurance, even something as insignificant as paperclips. They could be subject to fines, suspension of games, and jeopardize their athletic scholarship. We recommend that you speak with the university’s Sports Compliance Officer before enrolling a college athlete in the Vemma opportunity.
